Smallholders

Simbi Coffee is be a co-operative based in the Huye area in Rwanda's southern territory. Building on their washing station was begun in 2011 and opened in 2013, placing 9th within the Rwandan Cup of Excellence in this same year. Since at that point they have looked for to preserve strict guidelines of determination and preparing in arrange to proceed to deliver tall quality coffees each season. Simbi is composed of 1,850 individuals, 80% of whom are women.

Rwandan coffee is renowned for its quality and is primarily an Arabica coffee, with Bourbon being the most common variety. It is grown at high altitudes, benefiting from favorable climate conditions and volcanic soil, contributing to its distinct flavor profile. The country's coffee industry is largely driven by smallholder farmers, with communal washing stations playing a crucial role in maintaining quality and consistency.

This lot was sourced from 300 smallholder ranchers within the range of Rugarama. These producers grow Bourbon varieties at heights extending between 1,710 and 1,850 masl.
