Don Eliecer Nuñez Osori

In 2005, Don Eliecer was able to acquire the land that now forms his home and the foundation of his agricultural business, thanks to an inheritance from his father. From then on, work became a development project. And as is so often the case, behind every strong producer is a strong team: the support of his wife, Ana Yeni Osorio Cruz, was crucial. Together they made decisions, weathered difficult times, and developed the farm step by step.

Don Eliecer is no latecomer to the field. His journey began early, on his father's small farm. While others sought their future in the classroom, he found his in the fields: in furrows, harvests, cleaning, and tending the plants. These early years shaped not only his skills but also his character. For him, coffee became not simply a product—but a life's work and the foundation upon which to support his family.

At 18, he took the plunge into self-employment and planted his first coffee groves. He started with Caturro , but it was his first thousand trees of the Colombia variety that gave him the courage to think bigger and to truly believe in coffee. A small success that, in retrospect, feels like a starting signal.

Also known as “Variedad Colombia”, this varietal was developed by Colombian researchers at Cenicafe by crossing Caturra and Timor Hybrid.

Released in 1982, it was designed to combat the anticipated outbreak of the leaf rust fungus in Colombia. It’s development is credited with saving the Colombian coffee industry from serious damage when the fungus eventually reached Colombia in the mid-80’s.
