Summary of producer

Cafe Granja La Esperanza (CGLE)

Rigoberto and Luis Eduardo Herrera, third-generation coffee growers from a long-standing coffee-producing family, are the owners of Las Margaritas. In 1945, their grandparents began working at Potosi Farm as coffee growers. Red Bourbon, Yellow Bourbon, and Caturra are the three additional cultivars that Juan Antonio Herrera and his wife Blanca Ligia Correa introduced to the Typica plants that were already on the property. At that moment, Cafe Granja La Esperanza was established and more varieties were additionally added.

CGLE have made major renovations to the farms during the past 30 years of ownership and management, planting new, exotic varieties throughout the 52 producing hectares of Potosi Farm. At Las Margaritas they produce classic Colombian varieties like Caturra, Colombia, and Tabi and also more exclusive varieties such as Geisha, Sidra, San Juan, Mandela and SL28.
